I can't wait to see what happens in the draft and in free agency for the Lakers. I'm hoping we draft Donte DiVicinzo from Villanova. He is my #1 target! He's hard nosed, plays defense, and can shoot. Perfect wing compliment. I'm sure Rob and Magic will get us a winner, but I wanted Hart last year and they obliged, so I'm asking for another Villanova player this year.
In free agency, I would really love to re-sign Randle and maybe get one of George or James. I want to leave a max spot open for next season so we can get Kawhi Leonard. That would be amazing!
What do you guys think?

Agreed 1000% on DiVincenzo. He would be in the top 10 had he started for Nova. If we don't get him, I would be OK with Mitchell Robinson (just watched some pretty impressive video on him), Shake Milton, De'Anthony Melton (he is a KCP clone, minus the shooting touch at the moment). Here is a thought for all to ponder. If the Lakers front office decides to draft Grayson Allen (who, I believe, is pretty much disliked by most Laker fans - including myself), would you stand behind the wisdom that the F.O. has shown the past couple of years, or would you rip them? I am pretty sure I would rip them....at first. Allen would have to prove himself to me as a worthy player and good teammate before I could applaud that particular pick. What do ya'll think?

Grayson Allen is a second rounder, IMO. I don't think the Lakers will take him there. But, if they did, I wouldn't be too upset. He is a hustler and can shoot a little bit. I'm still not convinced that the lakers aren't trying to package that pick to unload Deng. If successful doing that, then they wouldn't have to worry about making a decision on Randle. They could just re-sign him and still go after two max level players.

I would hate to see us give up - say - Josh Hart and the 25th to ditch Deng with the possibility that none of the marquis free agents sign with us. I think a guy to keep an eye on with our second round pick is Okobo from France. If I am not mistaken (and I may be), he dropped 40 in a playoff game overseas and has the potential to be one of the steals of the draft. I am pretty sure that is the player I am thinking of....correct me if I am wrong.

But the Lakers could always trade up in the 2nd round to get that shooter from Maryland. I forgot his name, but he fits in nice.

I don't think that MRob would be a bad pick at all. I still think DiVincenzo is the guy if he is still there for us, but there is no doubt we need an athletic 5 and Robinson would fit the bill. The challenge is that it would take him at least a year to develop. Unless we were to sign another 5 that is NBA ready (Dedmon, N. Noel or somebody like that), it would be tough to go with MRob, Bryant and Zubac (assuming Lopez bolts).

Kevin Huerter.....and dude has INSANE range (he shoots like Steph - effortless and quick release from deep). His nickname iin college was Red Mamba, but he is not overly athletic. He could go in the first, as he has definitely helped himself in workouts and at the combine. He won't be there with our second round pick. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV3dZCvMy6A

It's never a bad thing to load up on deadly shooters. He could be the next Kyle Korver, which serves its purpose. Lonzo should be able to kick it out to open shooters all over the perimeter for Luke's offense to properly work best. George or Kawhi are also good fits.

Yeah Divizencio is nice, but will he be there that late? Probably not, yes?

Yeah Divizencio is nice, but will he be there that late? Probably not, yes? Probably not....Huerter; Robinson; Milton are not bad consolation prizes. Then again, we will probably all be shocked at what happens on draft day -- either by who they select or what happens with the pick. We could trade up if a guy slides, we could include the pick in a deal to rid ourselves of Deng....who knows. Just over 2 weeks until we all find out. I can't wait!

That would be the ultimate. That would guarantee us resigning Randle and then we could get any two max players we want without financial restrictions.

Problem with packaging the 25 pick (and a future first) to dump Deng is that this draft happens before free agency. You'd have to have two all stars committed already before trading the pick to another team so that they can use it. Unless Maginka have polled interested teams as to who they'd want at 25. I hope they have done their due diligence there.

The goal is to be able to re-sign Randle and have the money to be able to sign two more max guys either this offseason or next. Losing Deng gets us to that goal.
