The Lakers just acquired the 39th pick from the Sixers for their 2019 second rounder from the bulls. Are they loading up assets to make a trade?

Hmmm I like it either way. Even though the pick would probably be higher than 39th next year, it might be worth it because this draft is very deep with potential. Then again, it's unlikely anyone decent will fall that far but there is at least a legitimate chance of it happening this year. If we get lucky maybe someone like Jevon Carter, Grayson Allen or Melvin Frazier... possibly Shake Milton or Josh Okogie. I think Melton and Mykhailiuk are probably in the mix as well. I honestly wouldn't mind lowercase alphabet(Kostas) at 47 just based off of potential and getting on Giannis' radar for '21 free agency maybe lol.

I think the Lakers are going to trade the 25th pick (Kawhi), so they wanted to have an additional second rounder this season to help fill the roster. I am hearing that Mo Wagner might fall to 39? Is that so? That's a steal if you ask me.

If they want to move up to get a guy, they can package this pick with 25 to move up. If they want to make a trade, it's more ammo. Just a good business move.

Bottom line: there's clearly a plan. Based on that alone, I like it!
